Who’s this eejit?
A bit about me
I began my career teaching film studies in University College Dublin while reading for a PhD. One weekend in 2014, out of a mixture of boredom and hubris, I made a short film with the princely budget of whatever loose change I could find stuck inside the hoover.
That film did surprisingly well, premiering at the Cannes Film Festival, presumably as the result of a minor clerical error. This experience gave me my start in filmmaking, and I returned from Cannes intent on abandoning academia, much to the relief of scholars everywhere.
I founded a film production company, began producing commercial work, and won clients like Warner Bros, NBC, Sony, and Universal Music. In the following years, I wrote, directed, and produced a metric pile of commercials, music videos, and shorts, and was twice recognised by the Emerging Director Awards, alongside a few minor honours.
In 2021, I took up the role of Associate Creative Director for the experiential marketing agency, Cogs & Marvel. Having since been promoted to Creative Director for our EMEA office, I lead a robust team of multidisciplinary creatives, designing and producing brand narratives for the likes of Meta, Google, Pinterest, and Microsoft.
I’m an avid writer, having written and directed numerous plays, and having been featured in multiple academic and journalistic publications. I’ve also written a lot of mediocre poetry. In whatever spare time I have, I’m a keen modeller and game-maker, often 3D printing components for tabletop games of my own design, as I am a gigantic nerd, both literally and figuratively.
